Vegetable washer

Vegetable washer

This vegetable washer is used to wash and cut to length candle stick leeks. We currently fabricate two different models, the first vegetable washer will process up to 140 leeks per minute, the second machine will process up to 250 leeks per minute. This system is comprised from an in-feed conveyor, the main vegetable washer cutter and a waste swan neck conveyor.

The leeks are emptied on to the in-feed conveyor this drives the product forward onto the tail end of the conveyor belt of the vegetable washer cutter. The leeks are then positioned into thier appropriate positions on the belt and conveyed forward into the washer area cabinet of the machine, in the vegetable washer area there is a series of water jets feed from two water recirculating pumps located on the side of the water holding tank positioned beneath the machine. Once the leeks have been washed they continue forwards to the cutting station section of the machine, the desired length of the leek is set via a pivot bar located beside/alongside the conveyor belt. Once the leek has been cut the finished product exits the front of the machine to then go on to a weighing machine and the off cut section drops down on to the swan neck conveyor to then be put into a storage bin. This off cut then goes on for other ingredients in soups, sausages etc.

This machine is controlled via a electrical PLC control panel, this allows us to be versatile with regards to talking to the weighing/packaging machines which are commonly used after our vegetable washer system.

Both vegetable washer models are used in U.K pack houses.

This is one of many design concepts that can be offered, please contact us with your requirements.
